Our History
OVER 41 YEARS AGO
Regina Primary School commenced its journey on January 18, 1982. Originally known as Northdale Primary Number 9, the school was led by its first principal, Mr. K. Pillay. With a legacy spanning 41 years, Regina Primary School has seen significant growth and transformation.
In its inaugural year of 1982, the school accommodated 18 classes, nurturing a student body of 555 learners ranging from class one to standard five. The school underwent a name change in 1983, becoming Regina Primary.

At its inception, the school’s sports houses bore the names Scorpio, Aries, Gemini, and Libra. These have evolved into the current four sports houses: Tiger, Lion, Panther, and Jaguar.

Leading the school today is Mr. H.F Khan, who assumed the principalship in November 2022. With a current enrollment of 629 learners and 20 classes spanning from grade R to grade 7, Regina Primary School continues to thrive as a hub of education and growth.

We at Regina Primary School offer an innovative, modern, and progressive education with an emphasis on discipline, hard work, dedication, and learning. Our aim is to equip our learners with the necessary skills so that they can compete in the ever-evolving new technological world. We instil in our learners, values of a healthy work ethic, commitment to learning and pride in their institution fostering good mannerism and a family environment. We strive for ongoing learner development and constant improvement to ensure growth and advancement.
Our cohort of dedicated educators are fully qualified, skilled, and experienced and act in loco parentis to fulfil all your child/ward’s educational needs. Our school is equipped with a fully-fledged computer lab, library, internet, big screen smart televisions in every classroom and Moodle. Moodle is an online platform used to allow learners to access daily lessons, homework, activities, worksheets, and a vast array of resources. Learning now extends beyond the school day in the comfort of one’s home. Learners’ login using their own personal profiles via any smart device on the school website.
Co-curricular activities offered at Regina includes debates, quizzes, speech contests, drama, spelling bee, poetry, Maths and Science Olympiads as well as Coding and Robotics Challenges. Our extra mural activities include various sporting codes such as soccer, mini soccer, hardball cricket, mini cricket, chess, volleyball, netball, mini netball, carom board as well as athletics and inter-school athletics.
Your child/wards safety and well-being is of utmost importance to us. We provide a secure, safe, and hygienic environment with perfectly manicured grounds and gardens. The school premises is secured with 24-hour armed response as well as surveillance cameras.
